Here’s to three day weekends and four day work weeks.
In all seriousness though, today is Nunavut Day – the anniversary of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and the Nunavut Act being passed in Canadian Parliament.
It was July 9, 1993 that Parliament passed the legislation required to create a brand new territory and with it a huge opportunity for self-governance.
It was six years later that Nunavut became its own, self-governing territory.
Happy Nunavut Day!
